Creighton School Division is the newest expansion in the Government of Saskatchewan’s Mental Health Capacity Building program.
The program provides students with school staffing and supports to promote mental health and wellbeing for students.
This comes after the Ministry of Education allocated $5.2 million dollars toward mental health initiatives in schools for the 2025-26 school year. $4.6 million of that money will go toward the Mental Health Capacity Building Program.
The school division encompasses the communities of Creighton and Denare Beach. Education Minister Everett Hindley says the program will help students in those communities who have been affected by the wildfires.
The program has expanded into six school divisions this year, including Saskatoon Public Schools. More information on the program is available at Saskatchewan.ca.
