Canada West have released their weekly BioSteel Players of the Week with only one University of Saskatchewan Huskie getting a weekly honour. Defensive back Lucas Scheck was named the Football Defensive Player of the Week thanks to his performance against the Manitoba Bisons in the regular season finale back on Saturday. The Sophomore defensive back had three solo tackles, a sack and a forced fumble that he returned 72-yards to the house to help the Huskies secure the win and locking up first place in the conference.
The Saskatchewan Huskies will be back on the field practicing all week as they prepare to welcome the U-B-C Thunderbirds this Saturday in the Hardy Cup semifinals at 2 p.m. with a spot in the Hardy Cup on the line. In the other semifinal, the Regina Rams host the Manitoba Bisons with the winners of each game advancing to the 88th Hardy Cup, slatted for Saturday, November 8th.
