It was the Highlight of the Night and the Save of the Night – and probably would’ve been even if there had been more than just the one game on Tuesday’s schedule.

Ethan McCallum (pictured) made a sliding, sprawling, glove save off Tri-Cities’ leading point-getter Jake Gudelj with the Americans leading 2-1 in the third period. A few seconds later, Kazden Mathies tied the score followed by the game winner by Cooper Williams and an empty net, insurance tally from Rowan Calvert, giving the Saskatoon Blades a 4-2 victory in Kennewick, Washington. The win was the first in three tries on their U-S Division road trip for the Bridge City Bunch. It was also the seventh straight head-to-head triumph for the Blue and Gold over the Ams and put an end to Tri-Cities’ three-game winning streak. Zach Olsen also tallied for the 10-5-0 Blades while McCallum stopped 29 shots as Saskatoon out-shot the Americans 36-31. The Bridge City Bunch continue their U-S swing Wednesday night in Spokane against the Chiefs. Game time is 8 o’clock with CJWW’s broadcast starting at 7:45.
