A Moose Jaw RCMP officer has been charged with break and enter and assault following an on-duty altercation.
On January 13th, an officer arrived at a home in Moose Jaw as part of an ongoing investigation.
The story goes that the officer unlawfully entered the home, spurring an alternation between the officer and a man inside.
The next day, the man reported a complaint with Moose Jaw RCMP, which did not include mention of any physical injuries.
The Saskatchewan Serious Incident Response Team determined the incident to be out of their scope, so the Saskatchewan RCMP initiated an investigation into the complaint.
The investigation resulted in the Crown recommending criminal charges against the officer, Constable Steven Sharpen. He was arrested on Wednesday and scheduled to appear in Moose Jaw Provincial Court on December 3.
