The Saskatoon Police Service has charged a 14-year-old boy with attempted armed robbery in the Confederation neighbourhood.
Around 1:00 a.m. on Sunday, staff at a convenience store in the 3300 block of Fairlight Drive told police that a male had gone into the store and began stuffing his pockets.
An employee confronted the suspect and was bear sprayed. Police were in the area and saw a male flee on foot and were able to bring him into custody nearby.
Staff members suffered non-life-threatening physical injuries, consistent with the effects of bear spray.
The 14-year-old is facing a charge of Robbery and Possession of a Weapon Dangerous to the Public Peace.
