A 34-year-old Regina man is facing charges following a break and enter to a garage over the weekend.
Regina Police were called to the area in the 900 block of Queen Street at 2:10 a.m. for a report that someone was inside a garage that was not theirs. The RPS Aerial Support Unit immediately located the suspect and followed him from above as he fled the scene and hid under a deck a short distance away
Patrol and Canine officers were directed by the Aerial Surveillance Unit to the suspect’s location. He did not respond to officer commands to come out from under the deck and was actively resisting arrest. The Police Service Dog was deployed and bit the suspect. He was taken into custody without further incident before going to the hospital to be treated for injuries consistent with a dog bite.
Now, Ian Nahnepowisk is facing a charge of break and enter with intent.
