The Prince Albert RCMP say they are trying to find and then confirm, that a male involved in an armed robbery near Wahpeton Dakota First Nation, is okay.
RCMP say they received multiple reports of armed robberies in progress on Friday afternoon around 4:30 p.m. Police say a vehicle was driving erratically at a high rate of speed on Whitefield Road near the Wahpeton Dakota First Nation when it lost control and collided with a power pole.
The suspect, armed with a gun then attempted to steal three other uninvolved vehicles. One of those vehicles left the road and entered a slough during the driver’s altercation with the suspect.
The occupant of a third vehicle got out and gave the vehicle up after the suspect fired a shot into the air. The vehicle was later located abandoned in Price Albert by Prince Albert Police Service.
RCMP say the suspect is believed to have a tattoo on his face and may have been injured as a result of the first accident involving a power pole.
