A Saskatoon green network project has received a Certificate of Merit for Landscape Architecture.

Nourishing Community: Leif Erickson and Boughton Park Enhancements was honoured at the Design Council of Saskatchewan’s 2025 Premier’s Awards of Excellence in Design Gala, which was held on November 7th in Saskatoon.

The project was funded in part by the federal government’s Natural Infrastructure Fund and included enhancements constructed this year to Leif Erickson and Boughton parks.

The enhancements included food forests, which are spaces planted with fruit bearing plants to provide edible landscapes, water conservation measures, and park upgrades such as new pathways, benches and educational signage.
