On Friday the Saskatoon Fire Department rescued a dog who was stranded on river ice near the University Bridge.

The Saskatoon Fire Department in a social media post says the technical ice rescue team rescued the pup around 3 p.m. Friday and took it back to the fire hall to recuperate.

The dog has been collected by Saskatoon Animal Control.
