The province says construction of the new Urgent Care Centre in Saskatoon is now nearly 70 per cent complete.
Aspects such as structure, roofing and interior framing have all been completed, and drywall installation is actively progressing with electrical and mechanical work ongoing.
A release from the provincial government says building the Urgent Care Centre at 215 Avenue S South, right beside St. Paul’s Hospital, should alleviate some of the overcrowding being experienced there and around the city. Once complete, the UCC will offer treatment for minor illness, injuries, mental health and addiction supports, that are non-life-threatening but typically require urgent same day treatment.
The UCC will be operated by the Saskatchewan Health Authority through a long-term lease agreement with Ahtakakoop Cree Developments, who has partnered with the government on the project. Full Completion is anticipated in Fall 2026.
