A New Year’s Day bust in the Mayfair neighbourhood marked the culmination of an investigation by the Saskatoon Police Service Guns and Gangs Unit.
Guns and Gangs with an assist from the Tactical Support Unit as well as patrol executed a search warrant at a home in the 1300 block of Idylwyld Drive North on January 1st. It was part of a drug trafficking and firearms investigation.
A 41-year-old man and 31-year-old woman were arrested at the home and police seized a loaded sawed-off Ruger .22 calibre rifle, almost 100 grams of meth, over 40 grams of crack cocaine, more than 30 grams of cocaine, 12 hydromorphone capsules, 12.39 grams of fentanyl and more than $435 in cash.
In total twenty-two charges were laid in relation to drug trafficking, firearms, and possession of the proceeds of crime.
A 50-year-old man also in the home was arrested on an outstanding warrant for possession of stolen property.
Exact amounts of what was seized:
- 98.37 grams of methamphetamine
- 43.43 grams of crack cocaine
- 30.12 grams of cocaine
- 12.39 grams of fentanyl
- 12 capsules of hydromorphone
- $436.85 CAD
