The new era for the Canadian Elite Basketball League team in Saskatchewan hasn’t been revealed as of yet, but their 2026 schedule has been.
The league says the franchise, formerly known as the Rattlers and now under the direction of the Saskatchewan Professional Basketball Club, will open the eighth season of the summer loop on May 14 at SaskTel Centre against Vancouver. The 24-game regular season finishes up on August 3 with playoffs running from August 6 through 16, including a first-ever best-of-three final series. A Historic New Playoff Format Begins in 2026
The Canadian Elite Basketball League is introducing its most competitive playoff structure yet, raising the stakes from start to finish.
Here’s how the 2026 playoffs will work:
- Conference Semifinals — Thursday, August 6
Single-elimination matchups
• 1st seed vs 4th seed
• 2nd seed vs 3rd seed
Higher seeds host
- Conference Finals — Saturday, August 8
Single-elimination
Higher seeds host
- CEBL Finals — Best-of-Three Series (League First)
• Game 1: August 12 (hosted by lower seed)
• Game 2: August 15 (hosted by higher seed)
• Game 3*: August 16 (if necessary, hosted by higher seed)
This marks the first multi-game championship series in league history, replacing the previous single-elimination Championship Weekend model, making every regular-season game more meaningful than ever.
