The Government of Saskatchewan is making an investment of $714,000 to the Moose Jaw Police Service to help with the recruitment and and retention of approximately eight officers.
The investment is part of the government’s Safer Communities and Neighbourhoods (SCAN) enforcement initiative. For 2025-26, nearly $6 million has been allocated as part of the province’s plan to add around 100 frontline officers in Saskatchewan.
The purpose of the investment is to strengthen frontline capacity and support improved response times for residents.
Moose Jaw Police Chief Robert Davis believes the additional officers will improve the police’s ability to respond quickly to calls, maintain a visible presence and support proactive policing efforts that enhance public safety.
