Women’s Hockey: Canada defeated Finland 5-0 Thursday morning and finished preliminary round play with 3 wins, 1 loss, 0 extra time losses for 9 points…good for 2nd place in Pool A. Canada will play in a quarter-final game on Saturday at 9:40 a.m. against a yet to be determined opponent.
Women’s Curling: Canada won their opening game Thursday morning, 10-4 over Denmark. Rachel Homan’s Ottawa quartet has 1 win, 0 losses…tied for 1st place in the 10-nation round-robin. Their next game is Friday morning at 7:05 a.m. against the United States.
Men’s Curling: Canada is off today. Their next game is early Friday morning at 2:05 a.m. against the United States. The Brad Jacobs foursome from Calgary has 1 win, 0 losses…tied for 2nd place in the 10-nation preliminary round-robin.
Medals will be handed out today in Alpine Skiing, Cross-Country Skiing, Freestyle Skiing, Luge, Short Track Speed Skating, Snowboard and Large Oval Speed Skating. There is also competition today in Bobsleigh, Skeleton and Ski Jumping.
