The Saskatoon Blades are gearing up for their first-round playoff series against the Edmonton Oil Kings, and the excitement is high. Rookie forward Ben Bowtell says the team’s tight-knit family-like bond gives them confidence heading into the postseason, while the energy of fans packing SaskTel Centre is a big boost. For Ben, it’s his first WHL playoff experience and he’s balancing nerves with focus, taking advice from veteran teammates to stay in the moment and tackle the series shift by shift.
Blades Communications Manager Tanner Chubey says the organization is working behind the scenes to maximize fan engagement and create an electric home atmosphere. Games 1 & 2 are in Edmonton, then return to SaskTel Centre on Tuesday. This is a series that’s historically rare between these two teams in postseason play.
Don’t forget to stop by the FEZ (Fan Experience Zone) for gear and activities before those home games! Key players to watch include Rowan Calvert, Tyler Parr, and rookie Ben Bowtell.
