Blaine Lake RCMP responded along with local fire and EMS shortly after 11 p.m. on Friday to a two vehicle accident on Highway #40 near Blaine Lake.

There were four occupants in the first SUV. Two passengers were declared deceased by EMS at the scene. They have been identified as a 28-year-old man and 27-year-old man both from the La Loche area. A third passenger was taken to hospital by EMS with serious injuries. The driver was taken to hospital by EMS with injuries described as non-life threatening in nature.
