A male teen has been arrested and charged with arson damage to property in connection to a house fire in Sanday Bay.

RCMP say they got the call on April 5, 2026, at approximately 1:00 a.m. No one was injured – the house was unoccupied at the time.

RCMP and the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency investigated and determined it was arson. The house was heavily damaged.

Sandy Bay RCMP say fires involving four other houses and one outbuilding have occurred in Sandy Bay since October 2025 and its believed those fires may have also been deliberately set.

An investigation is underway to determine whether there is any potential link between all six incidents.

Sandy Bay RCMP ask anyone who witnessed the fires or knows how these fires started to report it to police.
