The Province is looking for vendors to provide virtual care services across the province come fall of 2026.

Virtual care will be provided to patients who do not have a regular family physician, nurse practitioner, or primary care team via secure phone and video appointments from the comfort of their homes. A release from the province assures that patients will be able to receive medical advice, prescriptions, laboratory and diagnostic imaging requisitions, and referrals as needed until they are connected with a regular primary care provider.

Following the RFP, multiple vendors will be selected to provide virtual care services to eligible patients in selected areas of the province. Following the pilot, the vendor demonstrating the strongest results may have the opportunity to enter into a long-term agreement to provide virtual care provincially.

This initiative is part of a bigger goal of ensuring every resident has access to a regular primary care provider by the end of 2028.

A request for proposals is available through SaskTenders and will remain open for six weeks starting today and ending on July 24.
