A 34-year-old man was in court Monday in relation to two assaults in Île-à-la-Crosse.
On Saturday at 1:30 a.m., RCMP officers responded to a report of an assault where a woman had been assaulted in her vehicle by a person with an edged weapon. She was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Officers began patrolling the town to locate the suspect. The man was found and arrested a short while later. Through investigation, it was learned that another assault occurred in the community earlier that night.
A man was assaulted while walking through town. He reported non-life-threatening injuries to police.
Now, Floyd Michael Morin is facing five charges, included aggravated assault.
