A 38-year-old Prince Albert man has been arrested and already appeared in court to face two charges in relation to an aggravated assault and shooting incident from last Friday in Redwing, just north of Prince Albert.

According to a Saskatchewan RCMP news release, Leon Black has been charged with one count each of aggravated assault and discharge firearm with intent after the Prince Albert detachment responded to a report of a shooting in Redwing at about 9:30 p.m. on July 3rd. The investigating officers were able to determine that there was an altercation between a group of individuals, during which a firearm was discharged, injuring a male in the group. Police located and seized a firearm at a residential property and arrested Leon Black, who appeared in Prince Albert Provincial Court back on Monday. The male victim went to hospital with serious injuries. Prince Albert RCMP continue to investigate.
