The opening of University Bridge to general traffic has been delayed till an unknown date.

The decision came after discussions with emergency services and the Saskatchewan Health Authority. The choice was made to make sure that emergency vehicles will have consistent access to the hospitals. The hospitals will continue to offer access to patients and visitors as well.

The decision will not effect the pedestrian access routes on the bridge.

The City said they will continue to work with the Contractor to finish Stage 1 of the project, with work on Stage 2 already started on certain sections.
