Calgary Police say the body of a child, believed to be Parker – an autistic boy missing for almost two weeks – was located Tuesday.

In a news release police say if the body is Parker’s, they are working to confirm identity, it is believed he entered a culvert in a green space on the west side of Deerfoot Trail and travelled up a pipe and into a network of tunnels on the east side of the roadway.

On Tuesday Calgary Police say a member of the public located evidence consistent with the clothing Parker was last known to be wearing. Search teams were deployed and a specialized team from the Calgary Fire Department located a child’s body. The police service said this is not the outcome anyone hoped for and their thoughts are with all those affected by this devastating loss.

Calgary Police Chief Katie McLellan said, “Behind every search map, every briefing, every tip and every hour spent looking was a little boy who was deeply loved by his family.”

The police thanked the thousands of community members, volunteers, partner agencies and members of the media who assisted in the search effort.

At this time, there is no evidence that criminality was involved in Parker’s disappearance.
