The Pan-Continental Curling Championships continue today and run through Sunday in Virginia, Minnesota. Both the women’s and men’s divisions feature eight national representatives, playing round-robin plus playoff formats, vying for spots for their countries into the respective World Championships next spring. Canada is represented by the Rachel Homan foursome from Ottawa in the women’s competition while Brad Jacobs’ Calgary quartet is on the men’s side.
Canada’s women are already guaranteed a spot in the Worlds next March in Calgary. They have 4 wins, 2 losses…tied for 3rd place. On their schedule today…

The Canadian Curling Pre-Trials continue today and run through Sunday in Wolfville, Nova Scotia. There are eight teams in both the women’s and men’s divisions, playing a round-robin plus playoffs format, with each gender division winner advancing to the Canadian Curling Trials next month in Halifax. The winners of that event will represent Canada at the Winter Olympics in Italy in February. Among the women’s teams taking part are foursomes skipped by Ashley Thevenot and Nancy Martin – both from Martensville. The Thevenot quartet finished the round robin with 4 wins, 3 losses…tied for 3rd place and advanced to the semifinals. The Martin squad finished with 2 wins, 5 losses… tied for 8th place and missed the playoffs. On the schedule for today is the Women’s final…
