A 37-year-old man is facing several charges after evading police and driving dangerously inside and outside of Regina.
On Tuesday at 9:00 p.m, the Aerial Support Unit (ASU) was made aware of a stolen vehicle speeding along Highway 11 at upwards of 170 km/h. Police attempted a traffic stop but the vehicle continued.
The Regina Police Service tracked the vehicle from the sky as it entered the city and continued to drive dangerously by speeding, running lights and driving on the wrong side of the road.
The vehicle eventually stopped at 10:36 p.m. on College Drive and Toronto Street. The driver exited and attempted to run from police but was caught and arrested.
Randy Yaholnitsky of Medicine Hat was charged with operating a conveyance dangerous to the public, flight from a peace officer, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, theft under $5,000, resisting arrest and failure to comply with a release order.
His first court appearance was on Wednesday.
