The Regina Police Service says a death investigation that began early Saturday morning is now a homicide investigation.

Shortly before 1:00 a.m. police responded to a home in the 1000 block of 12th Avenue where officers located a 19-year-old man who was the victim of a gunshot wound. He was declared deceased at the scene by EMS.

Investigation has determined the death is a result of homicide. The name of the victim will not be released at the request of the family.  The investigation is ongoing.
