The Financial and Consumer Affairs Authority of Saskatchewan (FCAA) is releasing an informative advertising campaign for do-it-yourself (DIY) investors as part of Financial Literacy Month.
DIY investing is when an investor makes their own investment decisions without advice from a full-service advisor. This mens they are completely responsible for their decisions, successes and losses.
The FCAA campaign encourages DIY investors to make informed investment decisions while also being aware of scams and misleading information on social media.
FCAA Securities Division Executive Director Dean Murrison says that investors should do research to verify opportunities they see on social media as well as check if the dealer is registered.
Throughout Financial Literacy Month, FCAA will share information to protect investors through social media.
