Craik RCMP are investigating an attempted child abduction. A girl says she was outside the Craik School at four o’clock Tuesday afternoon when a man in a car drove up and asked if she needed a ride. She declined, the man insisted, but then drove off toward Highway 11. The girl reported the incident to the school and police were called. They were unable to track down the suspect.
Craik RCMP are reminding parents to tell their children to be aware of their surroundings and note suspicious vehicles or people. Report them quickly to teachers, parents or trusted adults. Don’t approach a vehicle if you don’t know the person inside. Walk with a friend if possible. Stick to sidewalks along busy streets as opposed to alleys or parks. And of course, don’t talk to strangers.
