Two men have been arrested and face charges following multiple robberies that took place recently at convenience stores in Prince Albert.
On October 22nd, police responded to a business in the 600 block of 15th Avenue East for a report of a robbery where two males allegedly approached staff with a knife and demanded money and merchandise before fleeing the scene. Suspects weren’t located.
October 28th police responded to a robbery at the same business where a male demanded money and merchandise before fleeing the scene. Again, no suspect was located.
On October 31st around 11:25 a.m., police were called to a business in the 800 block of 5th Street East for a report of a robbery. Police say a male allegedly entered the store brandishing a knife before fleeing the scene with an undisclosed amount of money. No suspect was found.
On November 2nd at approximately 11:30 a.m., police were called to a business in the 600 block of 15th Avenue East for a robbery in progress where the suspect allegedly confronted staff with a knife and demanded money before fleeing with an undisclosed amount of money and merchandise. No one was hurt but while at that call officers were dispatched to another robbery across the street with the same MO, but the robber left the scene without money or merchandise.
At 8:55 p.m. the same day, officers responded to a business in the 800 block of 5th Street East for a robbery in progress. Officers were told that staff was threatened with a knife but fled the scene in a dark coloured vehicle after being confronted by staff. A suspect vehicle was seen travelling westbound on River Street the next day and officers arrested the male driver however he was released without charges.
Police say the investigation into the six robberies all pointed to the same suspect. Twenty-eight-year-old Braydon Gibson was located and arrested by members of the Regina Police Service in Regina this past Wednesday. In addition, 28-year-old Tyson Deschambeault is also facing a laundry list of charges among which are armed robbery and disguise with intent. They have both made their first appearances in court – Gibson on two charges and Deschambeault on 20 charges.
