On Tuesday, Regina Fire and Protective Services responded to a high number of suspected overdoses with reports of unconsciousness and cardiac arrest.
Some of the caes they responded to required multiple does of naloxone as well as emergency medical responses such as hospital intervention.
It is unknown what the overdose substance looks like, though it may have been sold as methamphetamine and may contain fentanyl or other opiods.
The alert for the substance will remain in effect until November 26th.
