The Saskatchewan United Party is without a leader, but believes the resignation of interim leader Doug Forster is, “an important step forward,” as they, “continue building toward the future this province deserves.”
According to a news release, Forster officially stepped down as interim leader Thursday after nearly a year in the role. The release adds that Forster stepped in during a transitional period for the party while work was done behind the scenes to reorganize, rebuild and prepare for the next phase of their movement. No timeline was provided in the release for naming a new leader, only to say revitalized leadership will happen in the coming days and weeks. The Saskatchewan United Party was registered by Elections Saskatchewan in December, 2022, but does not currently have a sitting member in the 30th Legislative Assembly.
