Regina City Council has approved the budget for 2026.
The approved mill rate increase for 2026 is 10.9 per cent, with the combined increases to the mill rate, utility rate, and library levy adding up to $38.70 per month for the average household in Regina.
The mill rate increase is broken down into three parts, 5.7 per cent for Civic Operations, 2.93 per cent for Dedicated Mill Rates and 2.20 per cent is for the Regina Police Service.
Some key investments in the budget include $131 million for the Regina Police Service, $55 million for Regina Fire and Protective Services, $223 million for captial projects such as road renewal and maintenance and $119 million for water utility projects.
