The I-I-H-F World Under-20 Men’s Hockey Championship concludes today at Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota. Ten nations are taking part, including Canada. They are split into two pools of five teams each for preliminary round-robin play, followed by straight knock-out playoffs. Canada finished the round-robin with 4 wins, 0 losses for 5 points…good for 1st place in Group B. Among the players on the Canadian roster are forward and Macklin, Saskatchewan, product Cole Reschny. On today’s playoff schedule… 

Bronze Medal Game—Canada vs Finland—3:30 p.m. 

Gold Medal Game—Sweden vs Czechia—7:30 p.m. 

(Germany finished the round robin with 0 wins, 4 losses…good for 5th place in Pool A but won their relegation match against Denmark 8-4. Germany has three Saskatoon Blades forwards on the team – David Lewandowski, Dustin Willhoft and Elias Pul.)
