Although both influenza test positivity and hospitalizations have declined over 50 per cent in the last two weeks, there have also been three flu-related deaths in Saskatchewan during the same time frame.
The Saskatchewan Respiratory Illness Report adds that COVID-19 test positivity has increased slightly from 5 per cent to 6.1 per cent, hospitalizations have increased from 28 to 36, and ICU admissions have increased from 1 to 5. No Covid deaths were reported.
The most commonly detected virus last week was RSV. The report indicates that about 21 per cent and 14 per cent of Saskatchewan residents are vaccinated against influenza and COVID-19, respectively.
