RCMP say one of two drivers standing roadside exchanging information after a rear-end motor vehicle accident east of Lashburn on Highway 16, was hit by a semi and seriously hurt.
Maidstone RCMP say the accident happened at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. Police indicate that the semi hit both vehicles and one of the drivers. The 35 year old woman was taken to Lloydminster and airlifted to Edmonton hospital. She is in critical condition. No one else suffered injury.
Visibility was near zero at the time of the accident along with high winds and heavy snow. No charges have been laid at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
