It was a scary lunch hour for some Saskatoon residents on Friday. Around 12:45 p.m., Saskatoon Police were called to 20th Street and 2nd Avenue after several people reported walking in the area when they were approached by an unknown man armed with an axe or hatchet. He allegedly began swinging the weapon at them and chasing them.

Officers located a man matching the suspect description. A 46 year old man is facing charges of Assault With a Weapon, Carry a Weapon Dangerous to the Public Peace and breach of court order. The victims were not physically hurt during the incident.
