The University of Saskatchewan College of Dentistry has launched the USASK Dental Access and Training Expansion Program, offering fully funded dental care at the Saskatoon Dental Clinic for people without private insurance or who face barriers accessing the Canadian Dental Care Plan.
Supported by Health Canada, the program is designed to help low income individuals and families, newcomers to Canada, people experiencing housing insecurity, and others facing financial barriers to oral health care. Frontline workers and community organizations are encouraged to connect with the College of Dentistry to refer clients and help spread awareness of this new service.
Madiha Rizki, communications coordinator with the College of Dentistry, stopped by the studio to chat about some details with the program.
