The Battlefords RCMP Gang Task Force has made multiple arrests over the past 2 weeks. Late afternoon on February 18th, officers tried to stop a vehicle in North Battleford but it didn’t. Then later, the same vehicle was seen parked and police arrested and charged a man and 2 women from Alberta.
Jordan Waskewitch is facing charges that include possession of meth for the purpose of trafficking, and charges in relation to the alleged possession of of 2 prohibited firearms. Cherise Teichroeb is charged with obstructing a peace officer and firearms-related offences and Naomi Soosay’s charges include possession of meth and cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime and firearm-related charges.
A week later, the Battlefords Gang Task Force stopped a vehicle and officers say the driver was impaired and the passenger had multiple outstanding warrants and it’s alleged a loaded firearm was seized. Jamie Lynn Musqua is facing alcohol impaired driving charges. A male youth is facing charges that include resisting arrest, possession of meth and 6 firearms related charges.
The Gang Task Force stopped a vehicle on February 27th around 7 that morning and it’s alleged open alcohol was found and there was a prohibited firearm in the vehicle. Marcus Baptiste is facing multiple charges including driving while suspended, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, weapons possession for trafficking and possession of a firearm with a tampered serial number. Neisha Baptiste charges include carrying a concealed weapon and possession of a weapon obtained by crime. Josie Diamond is facing similar charges.
This Battlefords Gang Task Force was created last November to stem the increase in gun crime and violence. The RCMP Unit is a 6 month test pilot project.
