No charges were laid after Regina’s Crisis Negotiation Team tended to a mental health crisis on Wednesday.
Shortly after 4:30 p.m., officers were called to a disturbance at an apartment in the 3400 block of Park Street. They arrived to learn that one of the residents had been threatening to harm another person in the unit. The victimized resident called police and then left the apartment.
Police say once they got inside the unit, they observed multiple knives and broken glass on the ground. Officers then found the male inside and attempted to take him into custody. He then ignored police commands and locked himself in a bedroom.
Nearly 8 hours later, Crisis Negotiation officers were able to take the male into custody without further incident. The male had several outstanding warrants; however police say no charges were laid.
