Phil Vassar is heading back to Saskatchewan with a renewed perspective and a full-circle moment on deck. He hits Saskatoon on May 2 with Old Dominion, a group he has deep ties to after mentoring frontman Matthew Ramsey early in his career. Phil says sharing the stage now feels surreal, calling it a proud moment watching a fellow Virginian rise to the top.
Beyond the tour, Phil is embracing music with a new outlook after a near-fatal heart attack and stroke inspired his latest single “What It Means.” He says the experience pushed him toward more meaningful songwriting and a reminder to live fully day-to-day. Still, the live show remains his favorite part of the job, feeding off crowds singing hits from a catalog that includes songs written for Tim McGraw and Alan Jackson.
Phil Vassar joins Old Dominion on their “How Good Is That” world tour alongside Canadian artist Sacha, which stops at Sasktel Centre on May 2.
