On the high school beat…
The Provincial High School Wrestling Championships continue and wind up today at Saskatoon’s Mount Royal Collegiate. About 128 girls and 174 boys are expected to take part in 29 different weight classes. School teams will compete in 3-A, 4-A and 5-A school-size divisions as well. Matches resume at 9 a.m. and the finals in the afternoon.
The Provincial High School Curling Championships continue and wrap up today in each of the three gender divisions. The girls competition is being held in Allan, the boys division is at Meadow Lake and the mixed event is going on at Spiritwood.
The “Road to HOOPLA” continues today with the various finals in conference girls and boys high school basketball. Thirty-three different events…both girls and boys for a total of 66 winners…are being held in the 1-A, 2-A, 3-A, 4-A and 5-A school size divisions. This weekend’s winners advance to next weekend’s regional championships. The winners from that advance to HOOPLA on March 19th to 21st in Regina.
