Officers suspected the driver had outstanding warrants for arrest, but the vehicle attempted to flee after hitting police cruisers and a building. Two people in the back seat hopped out and took off.
The 40-year-old man driving and a 28-year-old woman in the passenger seat were taken into custody. Police determined the vehicle had been stolen earlier in the night but hadn’t yet been reported stolen.
In a news release Prince Albert Police say the 40-year-old male driver was found to have outstanding warrants for firearms offenses and was on a release order with conditions including a curfew. He is now also charged with Dangerous Operation of Motor Vehicle, Mischief Over $5,000, Assaulting a Police Officer, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and Fail to Comply with Release Order.
