Around 3:40 a.m. Wednesday, the Saskatoon Police Service responded to an unknown problem in the 300 block of Avenue Q South which turned out to be a bear spray incident.
Officers learned that a home in Pleasant Hill had been bear sprayed and then the suspects fled.
The Air Support Unit quickly spotted two suspects about three blocks away and relayed their location to ground patrol. The suspects were arrested and further investigation by the ASU turned up a discarded bag in the vicinity which police say contained a sawed off shotgun and multiple rounds of ammunition.
A25-year-old man and 28-year-old woman will be facing multiple charges and the matter is still under investigation.
