Loon Lake RCMP have issued an arrest warrant for a 31-year-old Edmonton man in relation to the report of a vehicle being driven erratically on the Island Lake First Nation last week.
According to a Saskatchewan RCMP news release, Joshua Clarke (pictured) is charged with one count each of flight from a peace officer, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, resist/obstruct peace officer and fail to comply with release order condition. A photo of Joshua Clarke can be found with our on-line story. The incident was reported at about 6:15 p.m. on May 21 when patrolling Loon Lake RCMP officers located an SUV with two occupants, one of whom they believed to be related to a separate, ongoing police investigation. The SUV didn’t stop when the officers initiated a traffic stop, fleeing at a high rate of speed. The SUV ran over an attempt by police to use a tire deflation device on Highway #21, before it finally came to a stop. The passenger in the SUV remained in the vehicle and was arrested, but later released without charge. However, the driver – Joshua Clarke – exited the vehicle and fled into a nearby treed area and was able to evade Loon Lake and Pierceland RCMP officers, as well as Saskatchewan RCMP Policed Dog Services personnel. The public is warned to not approach Joshua Clarke if you see him, but all sightings and information as to his whereabouts should be directed to the Loon Lake RCMP or Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers.
