The Nipawin Fire Department had a busy weekend.
On Saturday, at 5:41pm, firefighters were called out to a camper on fire south of Nipawin. Then on Sunday at 3:03 pm, Nipawin Fire responded to a medical call in town. While on this scene, a second call came in for a power line down and a subsequent brush fire.
Crews responded while other members remained patient-side in town.
But that’s not all. During clean up from the first fire, a third call for a ditch fire just past the bridge came in at 7:08. A post on the Nipawin Fire Facebook page says, “Luckily the landowner had been able to stop the spread before NFD arrived. In fact, he did such a good job Fire Chief Paul drove right past scene.”
These incidents are the last three of 69 calls for the year.
