There will be no provincial election this spring. Premier Scott Moe has been hinting that it was a possibility that he would call an early election. NDP opposition leader Ryan Meili has been advising the premier to squelch the idea. He says a spring election is a bad idea because of the COVID-19 virus. Thursday morning Moe released a statement saying, “We will remain focused on providing a strong, stable government and addressing the health and economic challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. I will not be calling a provincial election this spring.” So, we are back now to expecting a provincial election on October 26th.
