The annual C-H-L Import Draft was held back on Tuesday.
The Saskatoon Blades chose 18-year-old goaltender Martin Psohlavec from Czechia with their first of two picks in the first round. The Bridge City Bunch also selected a pair of 19-year-olds – winger Yegor Gusev in the first round and 6’6″ defenceman Alexander Sapozhnikov in the second round, both from Russia. The Blue and Gold made the three selections after learning that all three German forwards from last season will not start with them this fall, including leading scorer David Lewandowski, plus Elias Pul and Dustin Willhoft. Following is Les Lazaruk’s complete conversation with Blades’ President and G-M Colin Priestner…..
Meanwhile, the Prince Albert Raiders made one pick, taking 6’5″ Latvian defenceman Oskars Luks with the 60th overall choice in the first round.
