This year’s TD Sask Jazz Fest will come to a close tomorrow night.

The festival started last Sunday with performances taking place throughout the week. The festival was spread out across a few locations, including Victoria Park, Amigos Cantina, The Bassment, and The Broadway Theatre.

Two of the three headliners have already preformed this week. Noah Cyrus kicked things off on Monday and Modest Mouse kept the festival going on Tuesday. The final headliner, Bruce Cockburn, will take to the stage tonight.

Sask Jazz Fest’s Executive Director Shannon Josdal explained the festivals mission is to create opportunities for people to interact with Jazz and related genres.

“We are here to build the community and to really foster local, cultural initiatives, and so I think that that’s an important distinguishing factor that we hope that the public is aware of, and we hope that they realize that when they come out and support or they purchase a ticket, that is what their dollar is going to.”

Josdal added that 75 per cent of what is presented at Sask Jazz Fest is free to the public.
