Recreational activities will be back in action on the South Saskatchewan River starting Friday.

The Water Security Agency announced that flows on the river have decreased to around 340 cubic metres per second and that they will continue to decrease over the next few days.

The city of Saskatoon has since announced they will be reopening the public boat launch and reinstalling safety buoys. The safety buoys were swept away by the strong current, and are there as a visual reminder of the adjacent downstream weir.

The WSA says to still be cautions on the river since levels are still considered above average.
