Southend RCMP have charged a 29-year-old man for uttering threats and discharging a firearm.
On July 19 at 12:15 p.m., RCMP received a report of a firearm discharge on Tate Island, which is about 100 kilometres north of Southend on Reindeer Lake.
Investigation determined a group of people were on the island, when one of men uttered threats to harm the other people present and discharged a firearm.
In response, two RCMP officers were taken by helicopter to Tate Island. Travis Bird, from Southend, was arrested and dealt five charges.
No one was physically injured as a result of the firearm discharge.
Bird appeared in La Ronge Provincial Court on July 20th.
