The provincial NDP is highlighting the story of a family impacted by the impending closure of the Big River Sawmill later this year.
Breanna Succuci’s husband is one of the 117 employees at the mill owned by Carriere Forest Products. The family live in nearby Debden. She says the couple moved to Debden for his job at the Big River Mill. They relied on his income because the closest childcare available for their autistic child is 45 minutes away.
NDP Early Years and Childcare Critic Joan Pratchler says across the province, parents are struggling to find childcare spaces that match their work schedules.
